Gary V. Hunter - Chairman and CEO
Mr. Hunter has over 45 years of experience in the railroad and transportation industry. His vast expertise has included involvement in some of the most pivotal events in the industry from the mid 70’s through today. Mr. Hunter began his rail career with Western Pacific Railroad in operations and transportation, moving to Southern Pacific to work in their marketing department. He spent over 11 years with these Class I railroads in operations, intermodal marketing and marketing for bulk materials and Group Manager of Special Products.
Projects of note include Expert witness services for injury, rate, equipment, right of way and contract issues; Project Management for Utah Coal Rail Line development; 100’s of NLV and GCV evaluations for short line, regional and branch line railroads; yard and terminal operations analysis for 12 BNSF Railways’ terminals nationwide; Contract switching, operations and economics analysis for shippers nationwide, including Procter and Gamble, Cargill Grain, AK Steel, Sierra Pacific Power, Martin Marietta Materials and BayerMaterials; and Shipper Coalition projects in California, Oregon and Utah to protect rail service for future economic development.
Anastacia Sullivan - Director of Operations and Planning
Ms. Sullivan has been in the transportation industry now for 25 years. She has experience with both hands-on field research and overall analysis, and has served as a Writing Consultant and Lab technician for 2 colleges. For the last 8 years, she has worked primarily in commercial logistics, rail infrastructure projects and market studies and analyses.
Projects of note include: Traffic and revenue projections for 12 railroad companies in a recent major rail acquisition deal; Net Liquidation valuations for numerous short line railroads; Transportation costing and rate negotiations - transit times, revenue to cost ratio for rates, equipment and alternative routings for various rail shippers and commodities across North America; Market Analysis for 2 major manufacturers including industry surveys, demand and regional trends for marketing program planning; Project Manager for infrastructure development in Benin, Africa, includingassessment of existing rail line and equipment, future connections with neighboring countries, USTDA grant and proposal writing and in depth negotiations with government officials and investors; and feasibility studies for new facilities for multiple organizations
Todd A. Howell - Manager of IT & Finance
Mr. Howell manages several shipper client accounts handling rail logistics from rate development and analysis, to contract negotiations with railroads, car tracing and exception disputes, multimodal facilitylocations and supply chain integration. Mr. Howell monitors department costs and tracks return on investment, as well as participating in hands on customer development, conferences and exposuredevelopment. Mr. Howell also produces all RII graphics, including visual technology mapping and AutoCAD, website development, and marketing materials in both print and digital media. In addition, Mr. Howell is responsible for all computer and data systems at RII, including networking, system security, software integration and development, database managementand all electronic equipment. Mr. Howell serves as quality control for RII imaging productions,inventory supplies, shipping, technical writing, and multimedia communications. He also serves as Project Coordinator for multiple RII projects.
Projects of note have included facility layout schematics for 5 new industrial rail served parks and transload facilities, website development services and marketing strategies for a short line railroad and rail training academy, project cost tracking and coordination for international economic development project, and rail line inspection and evaluation for a historical tourist line operation.
Ku'ulei Hunter - Manager of Marketing & Business Development
Ms. Hunter has attainted her bachlors in business and marketing at Sacramento State followed by her masters in international business. Management responsibilities include tracking all marketing efforts on a multi-tiered program including branding, direct marketing and extensive project research. She Identifies and establishes strategic partnerships with key players in the transportation ecosystem such as rail-carrier companies, manufacturers, shippers and government agencies. Additionally, she actively seeks out new clients through networking events, industry conferences, and referrals.
Lola J. Wei - Consultant
Ms. Wei performs economic and feasibility analysis for this worldwide transportation consulting firm. She is the Program manager for development of costing models for operational analysis, marketing statistical analysis and trend forecasting, and transportation costing for the firm and client projects. She employs a unique understanding of various projection techniques and factors to forecast market demand, volumes, financial impacts, market trends, and growth indicators. She also conducts rail right of way, rail line and rail equipment evaluations for due diligence, acquisition and sale valuations, and settlement appraisals. Ms. Wei also contributes to marketing strategies, report writing and project management.
Projects of note have included complete net liquidation and going concern evaluations and due diligence for multiple short line and branch line railroads across the country; operating plan development and start up economic analysis for new operators of railroad; Expert witness evaluations and damages calculations; Federally funded loan financial analysis and loan applications; and feasibility analysis for new rail construction.
Craig Hunter - Consultant
Mr. Hunter has over 45 years of experience in real estate in the areas of law, development, finance, and title insurance providing real estate expertise for RII’s industrial development and property projects. His experience includes purchase and sale, financing and management of retail, office, industrial, apartment, and residential properties. As a Project Manager for a 13,000-acre mixed use master plan development and Director of Operations for a real estate development company, Mr. Hunter has been involved with land planning, the preparation of development agreements, CC&R’s, easements, loan agreements and cash flow models as well as meeting and negotiating with governmental officials and agencies.
Projects of note have included general counsel for 800,000 commercial/industrial complex, expert witness for a $370 million construction Loan, expert witness for railroad property title and ownership, project manager for 13,000 acre master planned community, problem loan workouts and financial institution real estate owned
Curtis Savoye - Consultant
Mr. Savoye has over 45 years of experience in the Railroad operations and Logistics. He began his career as a Locomotive Engineer, working through various positions of increasing responsibilities to Director of Automotive Terminals with Consolidated Rail Corporation. Mr. Savoye gained 10 years of logistic experience managing Chrysler’s finished vehicle network out of Auburn Hills MI. Mr. Savoye took a position as Vice President of Operations for the Richmond Pacific Rail Corporation manning 20,000 annual carloads in a terminal operating environment.
Leslie Savoye - Consultant
With over four decades of extensive experience in the transportation industry, [Name] has amassed a wealth of expertise and accomplishments across various roles and responsibilities. She conducts rules classes, trains and qualifies engineers and conductors. She creates training materials for freight rail systems to meet Federal Railroad Administration regulations
Projects to note include providing consulting services for terminal expansion projects at the Port of Oakland.Assisted in crude by rail terminal and switching operations in Bakersfield.
David Pettry - Track & Facilities Specialist
Mr. Pettry has specialized in railroad equipment, maintenance, inspection, and cost analysis for over 30 years in the rail transportation industry. He has an extensive background in rail engineering and management through working at CSX in various positions. He assists on projects from new rail construction costing and rehabilitation costing, to development of annual maintenance budgets and schedules. He also performs safety and track maintenance training, FRA regulations consulting, capacity analysis for Class I and short line railroads, and market analysis for rail equipment. He has completed his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Management with courses in Railway Engineering, Railroad Analysis, Rail Design, and Rail Maintenance.
Projects of note have included complete track inspection, safety audits and maintenance programs developed for several major rail shippers facilities, track and structure rehabilitation costing for FEMA and RRIF funding, and track assessment, upgrade costing andnew construction costing for redevelopment project in Benin, Africa.
Marietta Hunter - President & Secretary
Mrs. Hunter brings over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry. With a background in administration and banking she has led numerous projects focused on optimizing transportation systems for efficiency and sustainability. She has developed expertise in office management and client relations which has resulted in her successes as President.
Brandon Hunter - Associate
Mr. Hunter has a bachlors degree in business administration and an MBA from the University of Nevada Reno.
Ku'uipo Hunter - Associate
Mrs. Hunter holds an associates degree in fine arts and years of experience in business administration.
